Following the lead of a couple of popular reality TV programs, Sacramento Municipal Utility District(SMUD) recently held a tiny house competition. Teams from colleges around the state competed to build net-zero tiny solar-powered houses.  The competition was held at Consumnes River College in Sacramento, California.

First prize went to the team from Santa Clara University. Their entry was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship with some impressive features for a tiny home. All, of course, powered by solar energy.
